Keepit is a SaaS backup platform with an unusual architectural position: it stores backups on its own purpose-built, geographically separated infrastructure rather than reselling capacity on Azure or AWS. That distinction is the entire point of the product. If your Microsoft 365 tenant is compromised or Azure has a regional outage, a backup that lives inside Azure shares the failure domain. A backup that lives in Keepit's own cloud does not.
Coverage is sold in three separate licensed lines, each with its own seven-tier volume schedule, which is worth understanding before you budget. The Core Products line covers Microsoft 365 - Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and Groups - along with Google Workspace, Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and Azure DevOps. The Entra ID / Okta line covers identity configuration. The Power BI / Docusign line covers those two applications.
That identity line is the one most organizations overlook, and because it is priced separately it is also easy to leave out of a budget by accident. Conditional access policies, groups, application registrations and role assignments are configuration that takes days to rebuild by hand after a bad change or a malicious one, and none of it is protected by backing up mailboxes and files.
Backups are immutable and stored in a blockchain-verified, write-once format, so ransomware that reaches the production tenant cannot reach back and encrypt or delete recovery points. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the platform holds ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and ISAE 3402 attestations. For organizations with data residency obligations, Keepit operates paired data centers in specific regions so backups stay in-jurisdiction.
Recovery is granular and self-service. Administrators can restore a single mailbox item, an individual SharePoint file, a whole site or an entire Entra ID configuration, and can restore to the original location or to a different tenant - which matters during a migration, a divestiture or a tenant rebuild. Point-in-time browsing lets you look at the state of a workload on a given day before deciding what to restore.
Retention is unlimited and included rather than metered, which removes the common backup-vendor pattern of paying twice: once for the seat and again for the years of history that make the backup useful for compliance and legal hold.
Billing is a recurring monthly subscription charged in arrears, and multi-tenant management makes the platform workable across many customer tenants from a single console.
