The full D&D dice set in one place

Dungeons & Dragons uses seven dice, and this roller puts all of them one tap away: the d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and the percentile d100. Whether you are rolling damage for a longsword (1d8), a fireball (8d6), or a healing potion (2d4+2), you can build the exact roll with the number of dice, sides, and modifier, then see every individual die and the total.

Advantage and disadvantage

The defining mechanic of D&D 5th edition is advantage and disadvantage. Instead of fiddly plus-or-minus modifiers, you roll two d20s and keep one:

  • Advantage — roll two d20s and keep the higher. You gain this when conditions favor you, such as attacking a prone or unaware enemy.
  • Disadvantage — roll two d20s and keep the lower. You suffer this when conditions work against you, such as attacking while restrained or in heavy obscurement.

The dedicated Advantage and Disadvantage buttons roll both d20s, show you each die, and highlight the one that counts — no mental math required. Mechanically, advantage shifts your expected d20 result up by roughly 3.3 and is worth about a +5 bonus near the middle of the probability curve.

Common D&D rolls

  • Ability check / skill check — 1d20 + ability or skill modifier versus a Difficulty Class.
  • Attack roll — 1d20 + attack bonus versus Armor Class.
  • Damage — weapon or spell dice such as 1d8, 2d6, or 8d6, plus any bonus.
  • Ability score generation — the classic "4d6, drop the lowest" method.

Fair, fast, and table-ready

Every die is rolled independently and uniformly, so the results are as fair as well-balanced physical dice — without anyone wondering whether a die is weighted. The roll history keeps the last several results visible, which is handy when the game master asks you to "roll that again." Bookmark this page for your next session and keep the whole dice bag in your pocket.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the DnD Dice Roller

Advantage means you roll two d20s and keep the higher result. You typically gain advantage when circumstances favor you, such as attacking a prone or unaware target. This roller has an Advantage button that rolls both dice and shows which one counts.

Disadvantage means you roll two d20s and keep the lower result. You suffer disadvantage when conditions work against you, like being restrained or attacking a target you cannot see. The Disadvantage button automates this and highlights the kept die.

D&D uses a seven-die polyhedral set: d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and a percentile d100. This roller includes all of them as quick buttons, and you can roll any quantity with an optional modifier.

Roll 4d6 using the builder or notation box; the tool shows all four individual dice. To use the classic method, ignore the smallest of the four and add the remaining three. Repeat six times to generate a full set of ability scores.

On average, advantage raises your d20 result by about 3.3 and is worth roughly a +5 bonus near the middle of the difficulty range, where the two-d20 swing has the most effect. Its value shrinks toward the extremes of very easy or very hard checks.
