Key Features

Controls Inside the Browser

Data protection and access policy are enforced by the browser itself rather than by VDI, an endpoint agent or a network appliance sitting in front of it.

Last-Mile Data Protection

Copy, paste, download, upload, print and screenshot are individually controllable per application, per user and per device posture.

Unmanaged Device Access

Contractors and BYOD users install Island and reach internal applications under full policy without MDM enrollment or a virtual desktop.

Browser or Extension Deployment

Deploy the full Island browser, or the Island Extension to bring the same policy into a Chromium browser you already run.

Session Audit and Shadow IT Discovery

Application-level telemetry and full session audit trails show what users actually did inside applications, not just which hosts they contacted.

Modular Add-Ons

Zero Trust, Password Manager and credential injection, AI Protect and AI Advanced, SaaS API, DEX and Anonymizer are each licensed separately so you buy only what you deploy.

About Island Enterprise Browser

Learn how Island Enterprise Browser from Island can help transform your business operations.

Island rethinks where enterprise controls live. Most security architecture assumes the browser is untrusted and wraps it in other products - VDI to keep data off the device, DLP agents to watch what leaves, VPN or ZTNA to gate access. Island builds those controls into a Chromium browser instead, which means the enforcement point sits exactly where the work happens.

There are two ways to deploy it. Island Browser Professional is the full enterprise browser at $11.38 per user per month. Island Extension, at $5.20 per user per month, brings Island policy into a Chromium browser you already run - the pragmatic option when rolling out a second browser across the estate is not realistic.

The practical consequence is device independence. A contractor, an offshore team or an employee on a personal laptop can reach internal SaaS and web applications under full policy, without the organization enrolling the device in MDM or standing up a virtual desktop. Because it is Chromium, the user experience is Chrome - extensions, sync, developer tools and web compatibility all behave as expected.

Data protection is enforced at the last mile. Copy, paste, download, upload, print and screenshot can each be permitted or blocked per application, per user and per device posture. Watermarking stamps the session with user identity to deter photography of the screen. Because the browser renders the data, it can act on the rendered content rather than guessing at intent from network traffic - the failure mode that makes network DLP noisy.

Beyond the base browser, capability is modular and separately licensed at $3.25 per user per month per module: Zero Trust for access enforcement, Password Manager for credential storage and injection into legacy and shared-account applications, AI Protect and AI Advanced for governing generative AI use, SaaS API for application integration, DEX for digital experience monitoring, and Anonymizer for traffic anonymization. Credential injection in particular is worth noting - it arrives through the Password Manager add-on rather than the base browser, so price it in if that is the capability driving your evaluation.

Visibility is a side effect of owning the browser. Administrators get application-level usage telemetry, shadow IT discovery based on what is actually being visited, and full session audit trails including the actions users took inside applications - detail that network logs cannot reconstruct.

Island is most often deployed alongside a managed browser rather than replacing every browser: sensitive applications are pinned to Island while general web browsing stays wherever it already is. Common entry points are third-party and contractor access, call center and BPO environments handling regulated data, and replacing VDI deployments that exist only to keep data off endpoints.

Billing is a recurring monthly subscription charged per user in arrears.
